Barbarian is my first choice and ranger is second. Using barbarian though, means burning up a feat slot for Track but d12 hit die, fast movement, uncanny dodge? Those are tasty abilities. And what favored enemy? Imma githyanki! I hate you all equally!!! I enter rage!!! Graaah!!! |

I didn't hit the damned pirate captain. Not once. Crapness.
But it's all good. My AC is now 28!!! Good luck hitting me, Githyanki bastards! hahahahahaha!!! _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Also, stupid SR!!!
Out of 5 castings of PW: Pain, only 2 penetrated the SR. grrr.
PW: Pain has redeemed itself on the boss battle!
I was almost out of 1st level spell slots out there.
Level 2 spells! level 2 spells! |

Use it only if there is nothing much to lose and so much to gain!
Like using it to grapple an escaping githyanki with plot artifact on a flying carpet during cinematic mode, right revan? |

hahaha it's funny how everybody got short just a few XP after the most recent encounter. eman only needs 24 XP, bj only 12, myself only 922 (which isn't that much, considering).
EDIT: by the way, since i'll be getting my Prestige Class from Book of Vile Darkness, am I allowed to access the cleric spells found therein as well? it is my first D&D campaign, after all... :3 _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Still cold... so cold. |

Wait for Revan's reply. Personally, I don't find BVD spells to be completely game-breaking, as opposed to CA's damned energy orbs. Dark Bolt is still strong, though. But it is still up to Revan, him being the DM. Maybe you should check each spell with him, that could work.
What I found powerful from BVD was the sacrifice mechanics, as well as the drugs. From BED, the vow of poverty (It's a vow, not a benefit).
I'm not restricting it if I ever DM again, though. As long as it's built form 1st level.
As for the XP, ayos lang sa 'kin, coz it means I'll still receive XP as 4th level next time. And it just so happens that my next level up is level adjustment, so I won't be receiving much anyway. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

yeah you raise a good point regarding the XP. i guess i'm just not used to concluding encounters without anybody levelling up, hahaha.
actually i'm more interested in the higher level cleric spells in BVD, particularly Stop Heart. acquiring the necessary material components may be tricky (even impossible, though my cask of Golgari Deathwine begs to differ), but if I can get my hands on the required stuff it seems worth it. automatic -8 HP on a touch attack! *glee* _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Actually, BEDis also game breaking remember the spell that destroys any non-magical itemand allows a reflex save for half damage. And the one that blinds all evilcreatures (no save and no SR) 100 feet per caster level. _________________ Only by confronting your darkest fears can you find the light...

Alright class, listen up!
There will be no game tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16, 2007. Tomorrow is DotA day. The game will resume either on Thursday or on Friday, it depends. Now some of you may ask, "Well what about the ACLE?" To which I reply, "Ha! If ACLE day was made for learning, then really, the guys in charge would have said something about it. Now enough talk. It's time."
Also, I kinda wanted to go to Greenhills this Saturday to get a copy of the DMG, and perhaps the D&D starter set. Would you guys like to make that a game day? Now, barring bizarre twists of fate, I've heard Phil, BJ, and Mark (as well as myself, of course) can make it. We need only one more person to go to make it a standard party (yes I'm talking to you Xtian). Anyways, say what you think and post replies here, etc. _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Yeah, but it's a 9th-level spell, requires an artifact as a material component, takes half a day to cast, and, if I remember correctly, is a corrupt spell that deals 3d6 wisdom damage.
(btw, if it is a corrupt spell, then clerics can cast it, too. )
Orbs irritate me much more. However, I remember those BED spells. Malakas nga... :/ _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

I made an experiment on that d20, tossing it 40 times. mean score is 10.45, which is actually very close to the expectation. I haven't computed standard deviation yet, but I'll show you the results ASAP. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Statistics using Excel is a breeze ^_^. Standard Deviations are just few clicks away. If you have time maybe you could post the raw data here, in a new thread. The orange d20 deserves its own thread.

but with that d20 i think it's better to use that... thing... where you count which numbers appeared most often, or how often higher numbers appeared, or something. i mean, it does sorta tend towards low or high values... _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Still cold... so cold. |

Did that, too... Ou of 40 trials:
#of occurences between 1-10: 20
#of occurences between 11-20: 20
@#$&%*!!! Why did it have to be so flat?!
Yes, this deserves its own discussion. 'Pag sinipag ako, I'll raise it to a hundred trials. Then I'll post complete observations here under a new discussion thread. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Orm... Nice try. >=)
It takes guts for a newbie to try and pawn a more experienced player. I am impressed.
Just goes to show that law and chaos just won't agree.
Still, the Herald had to let him live. We'll lose our healer otherwise. Hehe _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

actually it would be better to provide a stastical equation for the dice with respect to its shape and dimensions and probility of the faces. A little least squares would actually give you the right statistics. Since the dimensions and other stuff could effect the results.
Hey... don't blame the dice if you have the money just go buy another set. hehehehe _________________ Only by confronting your darkest fears can you find the light...

Actually it would in some situations if a dice already has rounded sides it needs replacements. wornout dices are thrown out in casinos if you didn't know it before because they have a reason maybe a superstition. _________________ Only by confronting your darkest fears can you find the light...

Replacing the dice because of it having damage is a valid excuse to buy another set. Think d4 with broken tips for example. But replacing the dice because you believe it is biased without inspecting etc etc ... Waste of money ... I use superstitions for fun and thats all |
