Posted: Thu Dec 07, 2006 10:58 pm Post subject: Campaign Announcements (news, discussion) |
|
This thread is for any announcements, or comments by players/DMs for the reactivated Pharagos Campaign.
Let's kick this off.
Campaign Timeslot: 1-5pm, Fridays, and if possible, also Tuesdays.
Character Creation system: 2 sets of 4d6 rolls, or 28 pt system. Classes from "Complete -" series and Book of Nine Swords are all legal, with DM approval. Characters start at level 1, and are allowed to use action points (see Eberron or Unearthed Arcana). If a new character joins at higher levels, he or she starts at level equal to (average party level-2). Any alignment is allowed, so long as the character is not overly disruptive to the party.
Whoever wants to join in on the Pharagos campaign, just approach me at the tambayan. Target party of around 4 people, but can support up to six.
Current players as of 8 Dec 06:
-BJ (Herald of Harm, Arcanian Mummy Swordsage)
-Ryan (Alec, Human Swordsage)
-Jaykie (Orm of the Fourth House, Human Cleric of Orcus)
-Emman (Human Warblade)
-Tope (Ghaele Eladrin monster class)
-Mark (Catfolk bard)
Currently, full player capacity, but if any one drops out of the campaign, then slots will be opened. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

I ended up playing an Aasimar sorcerer. I'm planning on making a gish. Is knight phantom (Eberron five nations, pp42) allowed? Also, here's the link to level adjustment buyoff. |

Yeah, Phantom Knight is gtg, just bring text for reference. Culturally, it's available for Arcania, and the Mandrakori living in the Horse Plains. If you're character is not from there, then you need to find a master to train you. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

The mummy from Arcania just invited me to become an Arcanian. That's the easiest path for me if i need to have a master. Also, there are other paths i'm eyeing to take like Jade phoenix mage.
Jade Phoenix mage is also interesting. But I would have to watch out for XP penalty for multiclassing into a martial adept. I don't plan to take more than one level of the class but to avoid XP penaly I might do it if really want to incorporate manuevers on my class
In my current plan, at level 20, I should have a BAB of 17 and sorcerer caster level of 19.
I just wish i could play regularly. |

I'm roleplaying a dead dude...
What else is new?
And, oh, me thinks I should change my signature...
Emperor Vrahn Targaryen, First of His Name, Consort to the Ruby Sorceress, and Youngest Lich in all Pharagos... is bored. Reactivate the Paragos Setting! _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

And again, I'm playing a fighter native outsider who is inclined to good. Except this time, the class is a sorcerer.
Don't want to become a death knight this time. |

Orm of the Fourth House: Indeed, join us, join our cause... OR YOUR INTESTINES SHALL BE FED TO THE DEMONS THAT SERVE THE UNDEAD DEMON PRINCE ORCUS!!!
Orm kinda reminds me of Reducto, from Harvey Birman Attorney at Law. hahaha. _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Still cold... so cold. |

Core Quest: The Red Corsair
Track down the Githyanki pirate Captain Gauron, the Red Corsair. He commands the planar raider Legacy of Torment and has repeatedly attacked Arcanian and Selentine vessels around the Iron Isles.
NPCs involved:
-Captain Ix of the Bastion Guards
-Lt. Tal Highguard, marine commander on the Sabledrake, and the party's commanding officer.
-Corwin Gryphon, mission specialist mage providing arcane support.
Side Quest: Captain Trenchard
The Red Corsair is not the only pirate in the Firannos Sea. Captain Jack Trenchard regularly preys on merchant ships, especially those flying the flag of House Kasra. The motives for this grudge are unknown
NPCs:
-Lt. Tal Highguard
Side Quest: Frameup
The Selentine Legions have been framed for terrorist attacks on Lysean and Arcanian vessels. The Ambassador is willing to pay generously for information leading to the true perpetrators of these crimes.
NPCs:
-The Infinite Serpents (supplied weapons and armor)
-Ambassador Aleksandr Lykurgos, Praetor of the 13th Imperial Legion.
Side Quest: Politics
The unstable situation in the Iron Isles is cause for concern from the various factions in the Alliance. Each is doing its best to gain influence over House Kasra, the current rulers of the Isles.
NPCs:
-Ambassador Kai'Gkul Axom of Arcania
-Ambassador Yisanne Liandri of Lysea
-Ambassador Aleksandr Lykurgos of Selentia
-Ambassador Thoronel of the Elven Dominion
-Thorin Kasra, aging Duke of Bastion
-Talon Kasra von Hiregaard, Thorin's grandson and heir

'Elo guys!
Check out the Mandrakori thread for the trial versions of two game languages: Mandrakori Sign Language, and Battle Language (Batlang, for short.) Feel free to post any questions or comments in the thread.
Combat communication is now restricted to one or two words by players to each other, unless you are willing to use up a standard or full round action.
This is something of a test to see how this all works out (inspired by the variant rules from the Ghost in the Shell D20 mod). _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

Offhand, I'm good to go for the 26th, barring any drastic changes in family plans or random acts of God.
Oh, and Dimsum and Dumplings would make for a great place to play D&D (just check out the acronym). The P100 buck eat all you can pork siomai doesn't hurt either. Highly recommended!
Edit: I just need to check again guys, please post your race class levels for reference, am trying to setup the opposition for 26th _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

Happy for the level up. But not so happy with that god-forsaken orc wizard. Orc wizard! Yes, and orc wizard wearing wizardly robe and carrying spellbook! It was hard to imagine once you are fixated with things. I think, Revan, that he could be a nasty returning enemy. Give him levels of rage mage and he's good to go . And also to get my hands on that god-forsaken orc for *almost* killing me. |

The orc and the yogi bear. Mwahaha!
I was asking the strengths score of you and ryan's character to know if you guys could carry the bear. But it was too heavy. I was thinking of a bear coat ala Takamura of Hajime No Ippo. |

I though the orc mage was alive, limping with a twisted ankle after jumping from the ship? Did anyone kill the orc while escaping? I don't remember. |

The Dwarven Sniper did. The Orc Wizard got skewered with a huge bolt from the ballista, so him coming back is unlikely. A Zombie Orc Wizard, though... there's a thought. And, were that the case, I could use my Rebuke Undead for more than controlling The Herald of Harm now. _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Still cold... so cold. |

And I've looked it up... Undead can enter rage. Problem is, without the extend rage feat, the rage only lasts 3 rounds... _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Quick campaign status reminder:
With the rescue of the Al-diraqi airship Cloud Ant, the party now has access to an airship capable of reaching Captain Gauron's hideout. Now, you need to return to Bastion to pick up the crew that Talon Kasra von Hiregaard has assembled. You'll get one last chance to stock up on supplies, scrolls, potions, and whatnot before storming Gauron's base.
New sidequest options:
The Sword Stalker
-The githyanki Sword Stalker, Garth, will reward the party generously for the return of the silver sword stolen by Gauron.
-Garth is also offering an extra reward should the party be able to capture Gauron alive for trial and execution in the Iron Isles. You have no idea why a gith would wish for the capture and death of a fellow gith warrior.
No major updates on the other sidequests for now. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

Ranger? Favored enemy human. That would actually result in Garth being a fairly nasty character for the party, but he'll probably stay away from the party in this fight, so no problems yet. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.
