um... pretty self-explanatory, right? Very Happy

currently my players generally contain a mix of pop rock, metal, j-pop, and just a touch of emo. ahaha... weird.

so yeah... there you go. if the same question had been posed to me last year, i woulda hit you with a million different band names... but not so this year. pretty weak year for rock imho, particularly for OPM. as far as OPM rock is concerned, '06 just doesn't compare to the awesome stuff that came out '03-'04, even '05. that's what i think, at least.

Personal favorites include:

-soundtracks (anime, movie, whatever, currently FMA and Ghost in the Shell: SAC top this set)

-some classic rock/metal (Metallica, Meatloaf)

-classical (Carmina Burana, the Dies Irae part of Mozart's Requiem, Night on Bald Mountain and Pictures in an Exhibition by Mussorgsky)

-Broadway musicals (Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera)

-On the OPM side, the only group I used to listen to regularly was Wolfgang, but I can't find my CDs of Black Mantra and Serve in Silence anymore.

i love my playlist. because nobody else can stand to listen to it except me.

i've got:

- classical music
- animated films and disney OSTs (actually, not just from the animated movies. haha)
- foreign danceables and jazz (mostly french, african and german. a little j-pop)
- anime OPs
- currently, i have a playlist dedicated to christmas songs, mostly ryan cayabyab's.
- dance floor hits

that's about it.

Currently I am rekindling my love affair with Lacuna Coil. I like their older stuff, mostly from Unleashed Memories I think.

generally I haven't been surfing through too much metal lately, though... not as much as, say, a year ago at least. I mostly just listen to the same kinda depressing music, if not the radio. It's either that or anime OP's (I'm particularly enthralled by the one from *gasp* Paradise Kiss, which is strangely catchy and DDRish, and God knows I'm a sucker for DDR), or a mesh of emo... no, sorry, I meant to say American Contemporary Pop Rock Bearing Qualities Similar to Emo. that's, ahh, you know, if you wanna get "technical" and all.

I'm a hardcore listener to the only two timeless genres to come out of the UK: Shoegazer and DnB.

Was surprised that I can download virtually all of the obscure hits na shoegazer on airmp3.com Same with DnB (Drum and Bass).

While shopping for CDs, found out that Fully Booked, the Fort has one-of's na DnB---best of and various artists.

Still deciding if I really need a portable MP3 player, I tend to misplace stuff and a 9k mp3 player is just a big headache waiting to slap me if I misplace it. But I'm still not decided if Walkman or iPod. Which is more durable and which sounds better??

I'm currently listening to the soundtrack of the arcade game DJMAX Technika. Other than techno and rap, it has a heaping helping of genres I haven't heard of like "Space Idol Pop", "Gabber" with a mix of piano ballad and drum-'n'-bass. Some are relaxing while others remind me how badly I fail when I play them (at P28 a game, every game over hurts the pocket). Laughing

I asked people on my Facebook and LJ to rec me songs; the challenge was that they'd have to fit on a playlist titled "Songs to F___ (Or Make Love) To." Basically, a make-out soundtrack of lulz. I've gotten a lot of good music out of it so far, so I've been listening to it over the past few days. Very Happy

Revisiting favorite musicals, namely:

-The Phantom of The Opera (movie and cast recording both, and damn the purists but both have their up and downsides)
-Les Miserables
-Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street (movie version. Still looking for the original musical)

Listening to odd songs from a whole mess of Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals.
-Jesus Christ, Superstar
-Evita
-Sunset Boulevard
-Starlight Express
-Cats
-Whistle Down The Wind
-Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

New musicals listening to:
-Repo! The Genetic Opera
-Avenue Q

Listening to Streetlight Manifesto, 500 days of summer soundtrack, game soundtracks (persona, cave story, etc), Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog soundtrack, random anime/jap songs, random OPM music and stuff that i believe that I've posted before. (everything is in one huge playlist that is always played at random, i just add new stuff everytime I've heard of something new over and over for a week or so)
