Saw the movie on THX a week ago and it is the best damned superhero movie I've ever seen. Watchmen is now gonna be the yardstick to measure any other superhero movie. If you're not a comic book fan, you'll find the movie cornball because of the costumed heroes in brutal hyper stylized combat action scenes, but Watchmen goes deeper than just fight scenes and explores the psyche of being a a superhero and the sacrifices a hero must make to save the world.
I'm gonna watch it again and when the 5-hour DVD comes out, I'm gonna get myself an original copy.
