Recruitment!
In the Name of the Sun
Arc 2: The Pyramid of Radiance
A Bonethrall game
Type Dungeon Crawl
Character Levels 5-7
Players Minimum 4, Maximum 6
Campaign Synopsis
Kyris Lasirlan wakes from the disturbing dreams yet again, shouting in her sleep. Her own voice echoes inside her small room in the Damaged Dwarf Inn; she was saying something about a "place of power".
Her studies have confirmed one thing; the power of the Ilawith godstone seems to prevent all wicked influences from entering the Domed City. It even blocks out the constant shadow of Locust from her subconscious.
But these recent dreams were not of the Locust, they stem from something else. She opens her backpack and takes out the Staff of Radiance, which they have retrieved when Baron Karavakos died (a little too easily, she adds in her mind) at their hands. She knows little of the staff, except that it bears a ritual that teleports a small group into an extradimensional place. Perhaps this was what the dreams referred to.
Whatever this power was, it could bypass the protections afforded by Ilawith. Locust himself is hampered; she finds her arcane might diminished, though not completely inaccessible, inside the Domed City. She outright refused a small offer by the Councilwoman to clear up an underground rift because of this. If it outmatches the power of the godstone, then it only means one thing.
This so-called place of power is divine in itself.
Specifics
-I would really prefer 5 players, so I don't have to do too much preparing. Whatever the case may be, Kyris is a sure in.
-Game schedule is Mondays, starting February 23. Time is 12nn-4pm; if you have complications at any point during the schedule, I suggest you do not take this game.
-I expect this to run over 4 game days. Admittedly, the last few game days might not be plausible; as such, be prepared to have the last two game days at my place, just after finals. It will still be held on a Monday at the same time.
-I do not much care for party composition. You could be all strikers for all I care. That's your gambit, though.
-I am waving the fees for this game, because I am using a module printed out from a pdf I purchased. Revan will handle the printing; so instead of paying me to dM, you'll pay Revan to print it out, basically. Ask him for the exact fees. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

I am so tempted to bring in Olwynn for a team fagnus reunion, but thesis + exams on Monday for the next 3 weeks = no chance in hell for me. _________________ Currently Running: NOTHING

Of course Ky is in.
Offhand estimate of printing costs will be around 600-700, depending on whether I go through two or three ink cartridges. I assume, even shares, and I'll pay for my own share in this as well. And just so that I don't get any unfair advantage, my brother will be the one printing the module, I won't actually see it much myself. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. That's a lot of strikers
@juaberman: Xander is level 4.
Yevor (striker)
Sevens (striker)
Ultimorcium (controller)
Cyrille (striker)
Kyris (striker)
If Xander gets to level 5 (unlikely, as I am unaware of any ongoing BT game), then it will be capped out with 6 players. In any case, I'm locking the group now, with or without Xander.
If Xander doesn't get to level 5 by Friday, he's out. I don't want to adjust for the eventuality of 6 players on the fly. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Maybe you shoould use Ryan Nyar instead, juaberman. He kind of works as a pseudo-defender, and I can easily make adjustments that'll make the loss of a leader not too much of a detriment. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Well, most likely our tactics will be Yevor flanking with either 7s or whoever else is up front, I'm just worried about Yevor's reaaaaallly low surge count. I have a feeling we're going to have a lot of extended rests. _________________ "I should mug people to this song. I'll get so many silver points." -Random youtuber

Yevor should probably get durable. Remember, you can only benefit from an extended rest once every 12 hours. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Well, since Yevor's going into a pyramid, he'll be more cautious as he remembers the time at the Caves of K'maht. Good thing he's a little adept at ranged combat (no hide then Deft Strike™ yet though). _________________ "I should mug people to this song. I'll get so many silver points." -Random youtuber

Discussion of party composition is up to you, and I won't suggest one course of action over another (except in the case where the said option is simply not a legal choice). _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

I believe there was suppose to be a oneshot campaign this Thursday afternoon, and Xander was there, hopefully leveling him up.
Simon would like to join, but looks like the party is full _________________ There is happiness for those who accept their fate. There is glory for those who defy their fate

Well, as long as it's COPAL approved... though I did not see any Recruitment here on the boards.
In any case, my edict stands. If Xander does not officially become level 5 by tomorrow on or before 11:59pm, then that character can't join.
If juaberman can't officially declare a character by Saturday on or before 11:59am, then I'll only have 5 players. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

(facepalm) I'm thinking Ky should retrain to teleporter power, and should prepare to run like hell.
Tactically guys, we really need to work on our combat endurance here, as every hit can and will hurt us. We're limited to second wind most times when it comes to combat recovery, so we'll need to stay close. Aggro tactics are right out, as I'm not aware of any way that the team can heal mid-combat save for our personal second wind.
Which characters have the most HP? They'd better be ready to fill in semi-defender roles.
Which characters have any wisdom to speak of? Get ready to move in and provide heal checks to induce second wind, stabilize dying allies, and provide saving throws.
Also, iirc, I gave some members of Team Fagnus a few high level healing potions a while back. You may want to keep those handy. Characters with unused gold would do well to purchase potions of healing. It's barely worth it given our levels and surges atm, but what else can we do? We have no combat healing.
On a related note, print is coming along nicely. Should finish it off by Saturday. I only hope our party isn't finished off on Monday. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.
