Hey I signed a contract to get pazuzu out off my freaking ass. Not because you convinced us Glasya maybe strong but I really would prefer Asmodeus after all. _________________ Only by confronting your darkest fears can you find the light...

Ahh, but of course. I figured that out from the get go (Int 16, after all ;P). Doesn't matter, as long as I get the credit for your signing. _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Still cold... so cold. |

However, Asmodeus lets his minions do his dirty work.
It is very unlikely that daddy asmo would offer you a contract.
As the other lords of the nine work hard to deny the other lords of souls, daddy asmo is sitting comfortable knowing that it doesnt matter who among the lords take the credit for a given soul as long as the soul is in hell.
And there are many other reasons why he won't.
Unless in the unlikely event that ... ... ... ... he (DM) might offer you one |

Anyway, may I know BJ, by posting here or pm, what happens if they got killed outside of Hell?
Do they reform in hell and fight again?
Reform in hell then get tortured for eternity for incompetence?
Reform then get demoted?
They get to be consumed by other devils?
Permanently killed?
Reform as demons?
Demon lord claims their souls?
Others?
Up to you if you are going to tell me or not. |

Knowing the Abyss and after reading many of RA Salvatore's books, I'd say that a Demon Lord can do any or all of those, whatever he/she fancies at the moment. I don't actually know if they 'reform' bodily, but I guess the soul automatically moves there due to the contract. It's then up to the Demon Lord if he'll bring the dead back to flesh and blood. _________________ A little surprising, really...

We are not using FC:1 demon lords stats right? |

Then always be careful. Anyone else in the party can absorb damage except you. Getting a cleric back alive inside Orcus' castle is ... not an option. |

Clerics don't belong in the back row. They stay in the middle of the group formation. And in this particular scenario, you don't want to be anywhere near the edge of the formation, as Orcus can strike you from any direction.
And Cleric's don't need such items for HP boosting. They've got their own spells. _________________ A little surprising, really...

yeah, but Amon is... special. at 17 HD I've only got 105 hp (since Radiant Servant of Pelor levels have a d6 hit die). even though my spells can compensate for damage taken, just one hit and I'm in big trouble. >< _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Still cold... so cold. |

Visage of the Deity, Greater(CDiv p187)
Sublime Revelry(BoED p109)
End to Strife(BoED p98)
Holy Aura(PH p241)
Righteous Might(PH p273)
Disrupting Weapon(PH p223)
This is good to persist:
Quote: | The caster becomes a ‘Half-Celestial’:
a) creature type changes to Outsider (but the
caster can be brought back from the dead);
b) +4 bonus to Strength;
c) +2 bonus to Dexterity;
d) +4 bonus to Constitution;
e) +2 bonus to Intelligence;
f) +4 bonus to Wisdom;
g) +4 bonus to Charisma;
h) +1 increase of Natural Armor;
i) gain Low-light Vision;
j) Acid Resistance 10;
k) Cold Resistance 10;
l) Electrical Resistance 10;
m)Spell Resistance 25;
n) Damage Reduction 10 / magic;
o) gain immunity to diseases;
p) +4 Racial bonus on saves vs. poison; &
q) gain feathery wings which let the caster
Fly at twice his/her ground movement with
Good maneuverability. |
Combine with Righteous Might you get another +4 str and +2 con. It might give you your much needed extra hp.
Another is Greater Vigor (SC p229). ^__^ |

Holy Transformation (SC p116) gives another +4 Str and Con for a total of +14 to con (+4 Holy tran, +2 right might, +4 greater visage of the deity, +4 bear's endurance) and that translates to +7 to con modifier. At 17 HD that is 119 extra hp. That's more than your current hp now.
PM me if you want more details about getting more, minimizing weaknesses etc. This is the thread of our dm. Hehehehehe.

but... we don't get to rest in Orcus' castle. >< there is a way around that, but I need to be able to cast time stop (like, i have to cast it, and not from a scroll or anything).

First of all, from what I get of the situation, you'll be storming a castle. Not just any castle - Orcus' castle. You really can't expect a rest there, not even in a mere mortal's castle. Prep your big spells, move in, do the job, move out. It would be nice to do some scrying beforehand, get the feel of the place so you don't go stumbling in the dark.
Second, I have no idea what you'll be pulling off with the high-level time stop being just a part of the trick; I must admit that I am not aware of all your circumstances (domains, equipment, environment, etc). But if you can pull off a plane shift, then you can probably get some rest in another plane with a different, preferrable faster, time rate. _________________ A little surprising, really...

We are already inside the castle. And guess what? One of the dmpc aiding us was actually Kas and was able to find his sword inside the castle. The session ended Kas giving Tupe's Psion a nasty cut. Now, we get to fight Kas aside from demons and traps before Orcus.
I'm saving a trick or two *coughbluffbluffblufftoBJcough* til the final fight with Orcus but Kas might be good enough.
I'm going to like this.
Quote: | then you can probably get some rest in another plane with a different, preferrable faster, time rate. |
If you only knew ... Mark is playing a Planar Sheperd and due to role-playing restrictions and poor knowledge of planes we could not find a plane with fast time stream outside of Eberron.

Well, since you're RSoP, you must have the Healing domain, at least.
One other trick is to use a strand of prayer beads (bead of karma, in particular) and other means to boost your caster level, and prepare holy word or dictum to pave your way clear. Of course, if you're definitely sure your caster level can't keep up with your opponents' HD, then drop this tactic.
Or, if you're really desperate use miracle to dupe a polymorph or even a draconic polymorph (Dcn). A war troll would be right up your alley - unless you find yourself pitted against acid-wielding demons at every turn! _________________ A little surprising, really...

Announcement!
I'm going to edit the items "Amulet of Death Ward" and "Ring of Death Ward". The thing is, it's currently doing too good a job in protecting you in Thanatos, as most denizens there rely on Necromancy.
But don't fret. It'll still protect you from the realm. Mostly. Here's my idea so far:
*The amulets have 5 charges. Each time you are subjected to a necro spell that Death Ward protects against, the amulet loses one charge. With no charges, the amulet can't protect against negative energy effects.
*Every day (24hrs, in the strictest sense) spent in Thanatos consumes one charge.
*a caster may cast Death Ward unto the item, replenishing one charge from it.
The specs above are not final. Blast away with your opinions. I'm open to your suggestions. But I'm certain that I will edit it. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

I'm actually surprised that no one has thought of this yet. Have you noticed that I've been handing you lots of smaller critters instead of just one mean big one? Hehe.

I thought of that but I didnt suggest it. God knows how much clerics can abuse this.

I just read this but the problem at high levels is that the constructs damage thus not go through a lot of enemies with special DR's rendering it useless but yes it work in mid game and provided support in later gaming. _________________ Only by confronting your darkest fears can you find the light...
