Ahh Shinga...such an awesome awesome webcomic writer...
Anyways...Revan and I tried to read it. Couldn't get past the first chapter. The prose just made us wince... _________________ All hail the Bongolian Ultraprawn! |

So, it is safe to assume that this is the new Harry Potter as far as the thirteen year-olds are concerned? _________________ I shut my eyes in order to see. |

I try to make it a policy to only really comment on something after reading all of it.
In this case, I couldn't. I clawed through Goodkind when he was starting to become a flat-out raving Objectivist. I sobbed my way through GRRMartin's Red Wedding. I somehow endured the rather disappointing finale of Harry Potter.
But in this case, I just couldn't. Therefore, I won't bash it. Yet. This unfortunately, is not one of those cases where it's So Bad Its Good. At least as far as I've tried. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

>_> But it's not bad enough to be funny...and from what I've been told it's a guilty pleasure thing...like our Tagalog Romance booklets only...international and with a movie... @_@;; Oh dear... _________________ All hail the Bongolian Ultraprawn! |

Sexy vampire hunks that sparkle. I guess a lot of people get turned on by that. *shrugs*
If it gets a largely non-reader populace to read, then it can't be that bad... But then they made a movie, so now you don't have to read it...
Hmm...
I'm stumped. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Ayup. I noticed that friends who are closeted romance novel fans loved Twilight - but my friend who IS a proud romance novel fan (like, she's a Nora Roberts fanclub member and stuff) hates the books. And let's not talk about what the Anne Rice fangirl thinks about this series. _________________ Currently Running: NOTHING

I haven't read the book so I don't want to judge it. But there is one thing that I can judge the people who read it in the office. There is one thing in common to them who read the book in our office, most of them are the gullible type, stupid ones meaning those who do not use their logic or graduate from rich kid schools and those who cannot handle a true relationship on their own. Thus the audience say anything regarding the book? _________________ Only by confronting your darkest fears can you find the light...

But it's so hilarious when the topic of Twilight is brought up in front of fans of anything vampiric that ain't Twilight. _________________ I don't go for record time, my friend. I go for record PAIN!

Twilight!!!! Gahd, I am so gonna love Twilight!
Well, no. I love ABS-CBN, actually. Why?

I am adamantly voting FOR the Pinoy version!!!!
Why?
Let's see if ABS-CBN can make an insanely horrible series even more insanely HORRIBLE.
I mean, check out the script!

B: Bampira.
E: Bakit di mo itanong sakin ang pinakabasikong tanong. Anong kinakain namin?
B: Hindi mo ako sasaktan.
E: Ikaw na ang buhay ko.

My friend treats Twilight as her allowance for Fluff reading.
My own standards for Fluff reading is Richelle Mead's Succubus series aka Georgina Kincaid books.
Seen lotsa folk reading Twilight in coffee book shops; probably as a badge to prove that they can read English...snort! snort! snort!
Me thinks that succubi are more interesting fluff than vampires.
If you wanna watch or read a good vampire story, try Heavy Metal's Vampire Knight Requiem or even Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The best succubi novel I've read is Mike Carey's the Devil You Know, Mike Carey is a comic book writer who has crime noir novels on the side. _________________ Holy Lonely Night, Heavy Lonely Night ---

QFT. Full of 90's AWESOME SPIKY METAL GRIMDARK, which while a bit excessive for some, is still a good read in my book _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Still cold... so cold. |

Mike Carey fanboy mode is now online...any linkage? Sounds fascinating. Loved his work in Lucifer.
And the Stephen King link is win. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.
