Character Flavor Tip: Set up Quests
Set up goals for your character. These goals can be as simple as, say, finding the mysterious Candy Mountain, or alternatively be as complicated as achieving Lichdom by using your siblings' hearts as your phylactery.
Your DM/the fluff team will give your quest a level, if they decide to implement it onto the general story. This will be the estimated level at which you will complete your goal. It will then be set up as a minor quest for your character, granting you the said amount of XP when it is fulfilled.
Currently, I'm thinking of setting up an official Character Quests thread; but I'll have to run it over with the rest of the fluff team first. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

|
I have a very simple question that's been nagging at the back of my head:
Why "Bonethrall"?
It's not that I'm completely against the name, but it sounds more like a creature or even a template. As a campaign setting title, it suggests a penchant for undead or similar themes.
It's really a moot point now, what with the name already final. Still curious, though.
Me and the blokes (that's what some of them call the group) here are still improving on the setting I began, Kat'ha. We're adopting the world used by Michael Moorcock for his Albino Sagas, something with the World Tree and the Stormbringer, and Dreams of A Thousand Years... _________________ A little surprising, really...

It started with Bonethrull, which admittedly was kind of a nonsensical name that I thought just sounded cool. It evolved into Bonethrall, since well, we dance on the bones of dead gods, yet we are their thralls, something like that. I actually suggested omitting the second l, as in Bonethral (consequently giving the "a" a somewhat harder sound), but I suppose Bonethrall works just as well, in its way.
At any rate, we couldn't keep calling the damn setting "Cracklepoop" so there you go _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Still cold... so cold. |

Bonethrall is not the name of the plane; rather, it is the philosophy that revolves around the setting. The inhabitants of the setting simply knows their world as "the world". Most know it's a wreck; mostly because there is still a vague memory of the world being a thing of beauty in ages past. But despite all the dangers, the inhabitants just shrug it off as life (mostly) and move on.
The fanatical redeemer and liberator groups, plus their various offshoots, are exceptions. One way or another, they participate more actively in the affairs of the world and care for it's future (in the very vague sense of the word). Adventurers may take part of this wild war (and most do); for most, they avoid either as much as they can.
But why Bonethrall?
Mortals of the world were created by the gods, built weaker than the eternals so that their petty wars would not destroy this world which they have found. As thralls to the gods, they fought, and toiled, and died for their masters. And they were content with that.
They were enlightened by the first of the liberators, eternals who saw the treatment of their "lesser siblings" as unfair and cruel. While this first group was quickly put down, the idea was ingrained; we mortals deserved better.
Through methods now unknown to us, the Godfall War that ensued caused mortals to kill the gods. And that was when we realized our folly. Apparently, the gods held the world together. And without them, the world fell into chaos as the components slowly fold back toward the Elemental Chaos.
But there's a glimmer of hope, however. Recently, mortals have begun to unearth crystals that hold divine power. Called godstones, they believed that these artifacts are the bones of the fallen gods. And thus, the groups settled around various godstones; confident that this thing of power will protect them from the hazards of the world.
In truth, nothing has changed. Mortals are still the thralls; the only difference is, their masters are dead. And not even death can completely stop a god's will.
**********
Sorry for alternating between in game and out of game explanation. It's the best I could do under short notice. But I hope you got the reason why we called it Bonethrall. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Player Resources edited! Check the Cast of Characters thread for details. Fans of Eberron will be delighted.
And yes, I plan to submit feedback to WotC, which will include suggested powers and a new build plan if we are able. XD _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Useful Links Thread, where I posted the link to Dragon home.
Tentatively, the links in the Cast of Characters thread will link to pdf's, not to the site. I see this as the faster way. Some PC's do not have Acrobat Reader/are slow for pdf sites, however, so the move is being re-evaluated.
If this is not convenient, you could ask me to change it via PM.
In the future, mini-modding a moderator is ill-advised. Asking me to change something is vastly different from telling me to. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Instead of completely replacing the link, you could instead just add the link to the site. This way, viewers can have both options open to them: go directly to the PDF file, or weave through the site themselves. _________________ A little surprising, really...

Proposal:
At the end of each campaign, there should be exp tracker note in it, basically saying the amount of exp each character got at each session/encounter/campaign. _________________ There is happiness for those who accept their fate. There is glory for those who defy their fate

Another Proposal:
A Bonethrall Campaign Tracker. basically indicates what campaign has passed (and finished), what's currently running, and planned campaigns as well.
I was thinking of doing it now, but I don't know where to put it. Whether here (BT Discussion) or probably a new thread.
EDIT: Also, I don't know where to put the proposed Wishlist List (), or should it have its own thread as well. Then there will be an issue of too many threads then. _________________ There is happiness for those who accept their fate. There is glory for those who defy their fate

I do not like the idea of a consolidated wishlist thread.
*A wishlist is optional.
*Players go through the trouble of writing down wishlists. If DM's "require" wishlists from his/her players, then they should be diligent enough to check each character's thread. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

The functions of those are split into the Tavern, By the Campfire, and each campaign's thread.
Although, if you really want to track it yourself, by all means go ahead. I just think that it's too much work for even us COPALs. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Of course it will be legal. Just not yet, as not everyone have seen the book yet. Darn Amazon is taking forever to deliver.
The question is if we'll filter out parts of it. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |
