movies... well, nothing really good has come out lately. nothing that has interested me, at least. so i'll pass.

what about you guys? what've you been watching? Very Happy

Daily Show with John Stewart for the win!

Nat Geo's "Is it Real?" provides a lot of ideas for Cthulu themed games, and "Fight Science" plain rocked. Haven't gotten around to watching "An Inconvenient Truth" yet, though the DVD is sitting around at home. Recent anime fare include Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic, Gundam 08th MS Team, and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. Looking forward to Star Movies' Star Wars marathons.

Last movie i watched was Casino Royale. Though I appreciate the classic theme, I expected lots of actions, hi tech gadgets, and less talkies.

My tv regulars are House, CSI, CSI: NY, and CSI Miami.

I sometimes watch shows at NatGeo, mostly by chance. I wrote a note on my wall I that I would watch Mad Labs but unfortunately, I wasn't able to read it. Sad I was able to watch Fight Science and quoting Revan, it just rocked! Twisted Evil

Shows to watch list:
--?????'s Anatomy. Watched once and i got interested. I forget the title and the time.
--NatGeo stuff. Many programs there interest me but I couldnt watch.

I only watch a few channels. Namely, Cartoon Network, Disney and Nick. i WOULD recommend Avatar: The Last Airbender because of the kick-ass animated fight scenes, but apparently, Naruto has better ones. I don't watch Naruto because I might become a Narutard (I'm already recovering from my Avatard-ness). And I mislike anything mainstream (i.e. the bandwagon effect).

I watch Jack TV....Drawn Together (because it's so bad, it's good), Everybody Hates Chris and My Name is Earl for the redneck comedy (it's healthy to laugh til you pass out once in a while).

I prefer Forensic Files and New Detectives kinda shows to CSI and/or Bones.

I can't watch spooky shows. hee!

Movies......Happy Feet: story sucked, but the tapdancing penguins made it worthwhile. Eragon this January, HP 5 in May... nothing good coming up I think.

Venom, if I am not mistaken, which will eventually lead to Carnage. Topher Grace, aka Eric from That 70's Show, will be playing Eddie Brock, so... yeah. You've got Emo Kid vs. Emo Kid here, hooray. It's a bleeding emofest. Haha.

Eighteen Brassmen of Shaolin Monastery!!!

Hahaha! That was the best! But my favorite part was the fighting sequences:

Enemy: What kind of trick are you pulling? I've had enough of this, let's fight! *flies into the air*
Cooking Contest Judge: Oh, he's using the special Shaolin technique passed down for generations! It's so impressive!
Stephen Chow: *awaits and readies himself, looking on, then just as his enemy gets to him, raises a steel chair to beat down his enemy.*
Judge: Oh, a steel chair! It's ranked number 5 in the deadliest weapons in the world, and is deceptively innocent! It's so impressive!

Hahahahaha...

My current TV fix... Miami Ink. Shown on Discovery Travel and Living. Tattoos are great. Really.

I thought they were painted on. So imagine the shock (not to mention, pain.) when I got one.

j/k.

Actually Spiderman will be fighting Sandman & Harry Osborn in the upcoming Spiderman3. Venom will make an appearance ONLY in the end of the movie.

2007 will be the year of the sequels: Rocky Balboa, Shrek 3, Pirates 3, Spiderman 3, Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix, Rush Hour 3. Not sure if Stallone really is serious about Rambo 4 & Bruce Willis about another Die Hard movie

Only tv I watch nowadays are mostly JackTV shows (especially WWE & Jon Stewart), Saint Seiya (classic anime from my childhood) & Heroes

Sequels. Damn, is the world low on creativity/new ideas or something?

an Adult Swim show from the states. all about the world's most popular death/black/grindcore metal band (entirely fictional, of course).

not as funny as other AS shows i'd say, but still fairly amusing. Very Happy

Hahaha. From Robot Chicken's Car Pool, I think. Robot Chicken's awesome. Especially that You Got Served Voltron skit.

Post Posted: Thu Apr 12, 2007 9:12 pm    Post subject: Blood+ on Animax! Reply with quote
Blood+ has arrived on Animax...and it is now a serious threat to my DotA schedule as I now have a good TV show to come home early for Laughing !

To those unfamiliar with the series, Blood+ continues the storyline roughly 40 years after the events of Blood: The Last Vampire movie. The story focuses on Saya, an amnesiac and anemic high school student who has no recollections of her past, until she is mauled by a vampire, triggering latent memories, and unleashing her homicidal vampire-hunting persona. Fans of the original Blood movie will have a lot of interesting bits of storylines to pique their interest such as what happened to Saya, while newcomers will have a fairly accessible opening to the anime, as no familiarity with the movie seems necessary so far.

Art is fairly standard stylistically, but of fairly good quality comparable to most good series. Production IG's done a fairly good job with previous works like Ghost in the Shell, and Blood+ looks to be no exception.

As for language, the version being shown on Animax looks to be a very good official English dub. On an interesting note, the preview episodes shown last weekend had English credit reels and episode names, while tonight's premiere had the original Japanese text for the opening and closing credit reels while at the same time taking the English vocal track. Anyone sick and bloody tired of Animax's in-house dubbing will be at least content to know that you won't be hearing the same voices over and over again. The voice acting is pretty satisfying, personally, I'd say comparable to the dubs Funimation released for Full Metal Alchemist and Full Metal Panic.

Another departure from standard Animax practice is the fact that expletives have not been deleted, so you will hear the occasional "bastard" and "Ass" from Kai, one of the characters. Hooray for freedom of speech and literary expression. I just hope to god that the CBCP and the MTRCB don't jump Animax on that lapse.

edit 12/04/07: Another departure from standard Animax practice: They don't appear to be cutting out the most graphically violent parts at all. The intro to episode 1 has Saya in a blood rage relentlessly cutting down what appears to be a village full of Vietnamese civilians. Gory Goodness...Twisted Evil

So far, Blood+ looks to be pretty good, judging from the first two episodes. Here's hoping it doesn't disappoint down the line.

Edit: Screen Times on Animax:
Thursdays 1900&1930H (2 episodes in a row)
Thursdays 2300&2330H (Replays of the 1900H & 1930H episodes respectively)
Fridays 1300&1330H (Replays of Thursday night's episodes)
Sundays 2330&0000H (ditto)
Mondays 0230&0300H (ditto)
