not the first time they did something like that. There's an old chinese film released early 90's-late 80' that was an film adaptation of early dragonball episodes. The dragon balls they used looked like marbles

They called their dragon balls dragon pearls iirc.
In any case, I'm interested and would like to see how Hollywood does the fight scenes.

Dragonball Z starts after ChiChi and Goku get married. They have a young son named Gohan, and for the first time it was revealed that Goku Son is not human after all, but a saiyan from another world.

Everything before that is Dragonball.

A classic case of Mighty Whitey. Come on, the movie is based on a Asian anime, with an Asian actors playing every protagonist role except for the main protagonist. (And when was the last time you saw an American named Goku?!)
